Description
Exact Year: 1967

- Original Homer Ledford dulcimer.- Appears to be made of poplar and walnut.- Inside sound hole very clearly reads "No. 1352 Made by Homer C. Ledford Winchester, KY"- Very minimal wear from age.- Plays great and stays in tune great. Sounds absolutely wonderful!- Amazing example of Homer's earlier work.- Small defect in the wood near one sound hole. This is not a crack. Homer discusses this issue in the book "Dulcimer Maker: The Craft of Homer Ledford." He explains how he attempts to hide these defects by mixing sawdust with rubber cement and filling the gap. Sort of like a home made wood filler. I believe this is what you see here.- There are also three filled holes on the tailpiece. A previous owner added three small pegs to hold the strings, obviously unfamiliar with Homer's design. The pegs were carefully removed and filled in.- A rare piece at a great price!- Ask questions!
