This clarinet is made from the highest grade African Grenadilla wood with Hamilton plated finishing on the keys which gives it a golden appearance. The pads have special resonators to enhance the tone when they keys are closed. The bell of the clarinet does not have a metal ring on the rim which improves playing flexibility. The CSG comes with two different barrels - the longer barrel adds a more balanced and focused sound. The YCL-CSG-H is the same model as the YCL-CSG, only with the Hamilton plated keys. Yamaha spent five years crafting this specific model hoping to recreate the natural sound of the clarinet. The metal on this clarinet is lighter than others which helps in overall performance.
