I am the original owner of this wonderful sax (M.70649). I purchased it in 1957 when I was still a student. My teacher was a man named Bill Shiner (who also taught Stan Getz). We spent a full Saturday reviewing 4 new Selmers looking for the best sound and though they were all good this one was the best.It has the original lacquer and pads. The instrument has never been dropped and there are no dents. There are slight scratches as you can see in the accurate photos. For 10 years I worked as a musician, and as life would have it, other business opportunities got in the way. I continued to play the sax periodically but in 2011 I suffered a pulmonary embolism after a long flight from Australia and never regained my full lung capacity and can not play any longer. The sax has beautiful tone - it is rich, sweet and can be gritty & sultry when called on. It has very smooth action. It is a vintage instrument that is just a pleasure to play. The neck is the original and has the same serial number. Included is the original case, a clarinet case that came with the sax, neck strap and mouthpiece.Shipping is to the lower 48 States only.
