What makes this guitar special:  Recently acquired from the family of the original owner, this gorgeous Jazzmaster is all original aside from the switch cap (which was missing when the guitar came to us).  This late '59 model sports a 4-ply tortoise pickguard rather than a gold anodized guard.  The neck/body connection is super tight & the guitar is really resonant.  All electronics have been inspected & are in good working condition.  The guitar has been professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so she's ready for action straight out of the case!  And speaking of the case - it's the original tweed with handle still intact.Cosmetic Condition:  Used, but not abused, with good honest play wear - just the way we like 'em:  various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear.  There's a tiny cigarette burn in the headstock & a couple of small spots on the decal have worn off.  The original owner's name was Richard Rose & the decals on the neck pickup cover spell Dick Rose, although most of them have worn off.  He also wrote his name on the inside fabric of his guitar strap.  Overall the guitar has a great look to it, with a true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.Neck:  Nicely rounded maple neck (feels like somewhere between a B & C shape profile).  Dark Brazilian rosewood slab fingerboard with clay dot inlays.  Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them.  Kluson Deluxe nickel tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine.Body:  Contoured, solid ash body in sunburst finish.  Fender Pat Pend tremolo tailpiece with original arm; six-saddle adjustable bridge with original cover.  4-ply tortoise pickguard is in great shape with no cracks or breaks & minimal warping.  Guitar weighs 8 lbs 0.2 oz.Electronics:  Fender single coils with cream covers.  Bridge - 8.27K ohms; Neck - 8.52K ohms.  All electronics & wiring are original; pots date to '59.  Again, when the guitar came to us the cream switch cap was missing so we found a replacement & that's the only item not original about the guitar.  The decals on the neck pickup can be removed if need be, but they were put on by the original & sort of told the story of the guitar, so we decided to leave them on.Case:  Original tweed hardshell case included.  The case is in similar condition to the guitar.  The original handle is still there & all the clasps function fine.  Included with the guitar are two original black leather guitar straps & a vintage silver Cord Grip cable.  As mentioned earlier, one of the straps has the original owner's name written on the inside pad - Richard Rose.
