From my personal collection: Here's another fine electric 6 string I've got up for auction this week. This is a Magnatone Mark VII from about 1959. It was designed by Paul Barth of Rickenbacker fame and the lines certainly bear that out. Of all the student model electric sixes that materialized in the 50's and 60's, this is without a doubt one of the better ones I've come across in my opinion. This is an immensely playable guitar, with low action, super fast maple neck and strong, quiet electronics. It's a single pickup model and the toggle switch functions as sort of an on/off "bright" switch. The tone control doesn't do a lot but then we're talking about 50+ year-old electronics. As always it sounds the best when teamed with amplifiers of its era.It comes in its original case that is decent cosmetic condition but certainly not mint. It is fully functional with no broken latches or handles. It is however missing the inside pocket. All that remains is one inside pocket brace.I'm in my 60's now and after 4 decades of collecting and trading I'm starting to thin the herd a bit. This is one I played quite a bit, especially to practice on because it was so light and darn playable (the cavities inside the "solid" body gave you just enough volume to play it without an amplifier) made it ideal for my practice environment. It spent a lot of hours on the couch with me.Some of the finishes on these models were a little suspect and this does have  lacquer checking and plenty of chips and scuffs. around the parameter of the body. I would recommend you always handle this piece carefully because of the finish weakness. It comes with Kluson Deluxe locking tuners that I am assuming are stock to the guitar. The rosewood fret board features a zero fret then 22 after that. Please look over the pictures carefully before you bid and although I'm no expert will do all I can to answer any questions you might have.
