This 1983 MIJ Tokai Silver Star is ready to be your new guitar!Over the past year or so, Tokai's have been going back up in value in terms of collectability and prestige. The most famous of the Tokai's are the Springy Sounds which emulated designs of the pre-CBS strats. These guitars are known for their outstanding build quality and attention-to-detail. While these guitars were always revered, people tended to forget about their sister guitar, the Silver Star.  The Silver Star was designed after the 70s stratocaster featuring the larger headstock, bullet truss-rod, and a 3-bolt neck. Where Fender had problems with their 70s era strats, Tokai (and later Squier) cracked the code on how to make a great 3-bolt strat consistently. I have both an 83' Squier SQ and an 83' Tokai Silver Star. While they are visually identical outside of the decal (and perhaps the tint of the pickup covers,) there a number of subtle differences between these competitor guitars. For one, the Tokai is significantly lighter than the Squier. Both of the guitars sound fantastic, but there is a slight difference between the two on that. The neck on this Tokai has a C-shape and is a hair chunkier than Squier as well.Physically, this guitar is in pretty excellent condition with minimal dings. The face is clean and the black-on-black is a classic look. I can't say enough about how cool this style of guitar looks. There's a reason why I've had this guitar in multiple forms.  This is a prime, all-original example of an early 80s Tokai with minimal fretware. Don't take the risk of paying $100+ shipping to have a dud come in from Japan---this golden era Tokai is ready for the stage and studio.$625 or best offer; comes with gig-bag.
REFUNDS AND RETURNS: Due to previous fraudulent claims by a buyer, I do not offer refunds or returns.  eBay's claims process heavily favors the buyer and they do not/will not inspect or investigate items in the case the buyer misrepresents what they receive. I try my best to list the guitars as accurately as possible to avoid any potential issues down the line. Please know what you are buying and if you have any questions, ask them first---I will be more than happy to answer them promptly. If you would like to see more pictures of the guitar, they are available on request. A video test of any guitar listed is also available upon request. Thank you! Here's the feedback from one of my last transactions; if I say it's a great guitar, it's a great guitar: -"THE BEST! Exactly As Described! Best Packing Ever! Great Seller!
