Vintage F. Loree English Horn from 1953 (Serial # AS42). There are repaired cracks in the top joint which do not leak. Horn was regularly played on and regularly serviced, and is in good condition. It comes with a 2 year-old Loree double case with minor rips in fabric and cork grease stains, as well as a lightly-used Dallas Lickman gold-plated bocal, which goes well with this instrument. I believe there is still life in the horn, and it is best suited for doublers, students, amatuers, and collectors even though I have played it professionally in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as abroad. It has a gorgeous dark tone, forgiving of even the poorest reeds. It is also lighter than newer Loree English horns which is a huge plus (especially for those with hand pains).
