What a fabulous mic this is! It just sounds right on so many instruments, including voice. There's a sort-of neutrality about it that just doesn't lose it's shine or transparency. It certainly compares favourably to many other much more expensive mics. Having a variable pick-up pattern means that it can be used in a wide variety of applications. This particular AT4050 is one of two listed which have been used on a couple of projects and are now available to purchase at quite a saving over the cost of new ones. Condition is excellent with no dings, dents or scratches and only superficial evidence of any use. Comes with dedicated Audio Technica elastic suspension and plastic, foam lined box. UK mainland shipping included. Any questions, please ask. Audio Technica Info . . . • Transparent uppers/mids balanced by rich low-end qualities combine with advanced acoustic engineering for extensive performance capabilities and highest quality.Dual-diaphragm capsule design maintains precise polar pattern definition across the full frequency range of the microphone.Transformerless circuitry virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion and provides superior correlation of high-speed transients.Open acoustical environment of the symmetrical housing assembly minimizes unwanted internal reflections.State-of-the-art surface-mount electronics ensure compliance with AT’s stringent consistency and reliability standards. The AT4050 is intended for use in professional applications where 48V DC phantom power is available. Output from the microphone’s XLR-M-type connector is low impedance (Lo-Z) balanced. The signal appears across Pins 2 and 3; Pin 1 is ground (shield). Output phase is “Pin 2 hot” – positive acoustic pressure produces positive voltage at Pin 2. An integral 80 Hz high-pass filter provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. The high-pass position reduces the microphone’s sensitivity to popping in close vocal use. It also reduces the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.), room reverberation and mechanically coupled vibrations Specifications Element: Externally-Polarized (DC Bias) Condenser Frequency Response: 20Hz - 18kHz Low Frequency Roll Off: 80Hz, 12dB/Octave Open Circuit Sensitivity: -36dB (15.8 mV), re 1V at 1 Pa Impedance: 100 Ohms Maximum Input Sound Level: 149dB SPL, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D, 159dB SPL with 10dB pad (nominal)   Dynamic Range: 132dB, 1kHz at 1 Pa Signal to Noise Ratio: 77dB, 1 kHz at 1 Pa Phantom Power: 48V C, 4.2mA Typical Weight: 510g 188mm x 53.4mm (L x D)
