CONN CONSTELLATION MODEL 28D.Serial #4093xx. Stamped on bell is: C.G.CONN, LTD, CONSTELLATION, ELKHART, USA.This is a professional model DOUBLE FRENCH HORN. The 8D is the common one and is nickel plated I think, whereas the 28D is lacquer over brass and is supposed to be more mellow. The Conn serial # website lists this as a 1952-3 model. You may have better info than I have.Overall the horn is in wonderful condition for its age. The valves and slides area is excellent.  There has been dent removal on the bell and I can detect a small split on the outside rim where the majority of the lacquer is missing. ( SEE CLOSE-UP PICTURE OF AREA).The expert repair person said the horn was in wonderful condition but the valve-strings should be adjusted.
