The stand out feature of this guitar is the scalloped fingerboard on the 24-fret neck. For those unfamiliar with scalloped necks they really should come as an option on all guitars. Easy fretting, singing vibrato and string bends are no problem. And no slipping off when your fingers get a bit sweaty mid song! I've owned 5 guitars, all with scalloped necks and once you get used to them, you'll never go back.Far from being a high-output monster, the HS-3 is actually a smooth and relatively quiet pickup that produces a sweet overdrive tone without jagged edges. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, because the sound won’t get muddy or messy.The condition of the guitar is excellent for its year which is around early 90s I think. There are no deep dings in the body and only some superficial belt scratches in the lacquer on the rear of the body which you really have to search for to see.About it really. A great guitar. As you’ll find out, Musicman Silhouettes are not cheap so this one's a bargain!Did I mention that it comes with a hard case too? It’s got some minor nicks in the case vinyl and the metal clasps have tarnished a bit, but then that’s what a hard case is for.
