Silver hallmarks indicate manufacture and assay in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1969/70. All African blackwood. Well known maker, Robert Gillanders , was also the silversmith. The shop is now known as Gillanders and McLeod, www.gandmbagpipes.co.uk. The pipe is in superb cosmetic and functional condition. The current configuration includes a medium Bannatyne hybrid bag, Highland tenor reeds, Ezeedrone reversed base reed, Highland drone valves and Moose blowpipe valve. The original chanter has engraved silver sole and medium checking. The configured chanter is one of the last Atherton- made ABW Krons, uncarved and in perfect condition. The silver and ivory are complete and undamaged and the ABW finish shows minimal checking. There are no splits or cracks. It has never had repairs and is solidly airtight. There are 2 bag covers and silk cords. This pipe is ready for an advanced player. USA only due to CITES.
