VINTAGE 1980 FENDER MUSTANG BASSPLEASE CALL US TOLL FREE FOR AN IN-HAND DESCRIPTION(ASK FOR JOHN)1-800-800-0087What makes this bass special: Groovy short scale vintage bass with a cool vibe. The finish along the edges has "blue'd" like many other instruments from this era, giving it that awesome balance of black with blue edges, and unique finish checking patterns. It plays great, with a comfortable rosewood board and classic Fender tone in a small package that is well suited for long nights of playing. Professional setup is included, so all you have to worry about is tuning it!
Cosmetic Condition: Used but not abused, with some typical wear throughout. The original black finish shows some wear along the edges & has faded into blue. There's some really nice variegation accompanied by finish checking. The finish above the neck joint has chipped away exposing some bare wood (see photo). There are various minor nicks & dings elsewhere on the bass along with surface scratches. Overall it has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina & plays exceptionally well!Neck: Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. The headstock decal logos are in great shape & the original nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 30" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. The stamp on the bottom of the neck dates to '80. Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in black with 3-ply black pickguard & black thumb rest. The serial number on the headstock matches the serial number underneath the guard. String-thru bridge with four adjustable barrel saddles. Bass weighs 9lbs 1 oz.Pickups: Mustang Bass single coil pickup with a good, strong output of 9.28K ohms. Master volume & tone controls - pots date to '79. All electronics are in perfect working condition.Case: Unoriginal tweed hardshell case included. Case is a bit oversize and has a broken latch, but serves its purpose.
