~ 1960s Vintage COUESNON Paris France Trumpet ~ * Original Shiny Lacquered Brass Finish w/ Nickel Trim * Plays Great (Has Been Play Tested) * Smooth Quick Valves & Slides * Hardshell Padded Case * Mouthpiece Included * 100% Complete and Ready To Play * Made In Paris, France * Will Ship Worldwide * GREAT Vintage Couesnon Trumpet - Make An Offer Here’s a beautiful 1960s vintage Couesnon Paris trumpet outfit complete with mouthpiece and hardshell case. This horn is in very good used condition and is 100% complete, and all ready to play right out of the case. The original shiny lacquered brass finish is approx. 90% intact in my estimation. There is some normal handwear and small scratches to the finish but it holds a nice shine overall and has almost an amber/gold color lacquer luster (Please check out the photos). This Couesnon is mainly brass but has fancy nickel trim on the caps, buttons and outer slide tubes. Serial number is 74043, and although Couesnon brass instruments are hard to date, this one was built in the 1960s according to best sources I could find on the internet. This Couesnon has that neat mid-century art-deco look about it. This horn might have been a custom order, the receiver end is stamped with "4" "Bb" "U" and "C" (Other than Bb indicating a standard Bb trumpet, I'm not sure what these other number/letter designations represent). The bell is engraved "COUESNON PARIS - MADE IN FRANCE - 74043" and there is an "A" stamped on the 2nd valve casing below the 2nd valve slide. This trumpet has smooth quick nickel-plated valves. Valve plating is nicely intact and each piston barrel is stamped "COUESNON PARIS MODELE DEPOSE". All slides move freely and have just been lubricated. Couesnon has been a well respected French horn builder for over 170 years. This trumpet has been used, so there are some small dents and dings mainly in the bell section but nothing severe. This trumpet also features an adjustable 3rd slide ring, traditional lever style waterkeys with fancy elongated tabs, and mother-of-pearl capped finger buttons. This Couesnon Paris has been recently play tested and inspected and is all ready to be played and enjoyed. This trumpet has a lovely tone which can be bright or dark depending on mouthpiece selection. This horn comes with its black hardshell case which has working latches, a double mouthpiece slot, soft plush-lining, a sturdy handle, and some extra storage room for accessories. The case is in very good used shape and provides great protection for the horn. Black exterior w/ dark purple plush interior material. You also get a sterilized mouthpiece so you can start playing this beautiful Couesnon instantly. This Couesnon Paris is a solid quality French-built vintage trumpet, and it's ready to be played right out of the case.
