Here is a lightly used-at-home Godin Core HT Sunburst. The plastic is off the pickguard, but otherwise hard to tell from new. In 2015, Godin refreshed the Core line with a new glossy carved maple top, and lighter weight chambered Spanish Cedar body. Still an outstanding value, the Godin Core CT HB has tone and resonance far above its price point.
The Godin Core HB delivers great sound and looks:Chambered Spanish Cedar body, 7.5 pounds

For 2015 Godin upped the cosmetics with a nice carved maple top, a slightly sharper cutaway shape, a Duncan bridge pickup, more substantial feeling tuners and a chambered Spanish Cedar back (which is really a lighter weight variety of mahogany).
The maple/mahogany (cedar) combination is a tried-and-true formula to impart a warm mahogany midrange with the additional upper end snap provided by the maple top. The addition of a chambered body imparts a clean, open tone that is the signature sound of the Core series.
The Godin-branded neck pickup is a medium output pickup made by G&B from Korea (which supplies a lot of guitar builders including the PRS SE line). It's certainly a fine starting point, and the neck pickup combines good upper end string clarity, and commendably percussive low end that does not get soft and wooly like a lot of humbuckers.
The Seymour Duncan '59 bridge pickup is a well regarded humbucker meant to emulate the late 50's Gibson PAF style pickups. Wound to a relatively low 8.2K and with Alnico 5 magnets, it has a clean tone with a firm attack and avoids the hard upper midrange that can afflict bridge pickups that are wound too hot. There is a pleasing level of brightness, and single coil players will easily warm up to its fat punchy tones that somehow still manage to sparkle. And with modern master volume amplifiers and the plethora of available stomp boxes, you don't need a hot pickup to get great rock tones. In fact, a moderate pickup like the '59 is the key to overdriven rock crunch that is both powerful and musical. The neck is a medium "C" profile, measuring around .840 at the first fret with a very mild taper up to the 12th fret. It's a cinch to play, and the traditional 24-3/4" string length provides comfortable action and easy bending. Like all Godin electrics, the medium sized frets are highly polished with very smooth fret ends, and the fingerboard has rounded edges that feel broken in from day one.
