Offered for sale is a Fender Stratocaster Highway One made in USA 2007 in excellent condition (only a few small marks, see photo 11 & 12 for the worst of them). Comes with original padded case and tremelo arm. This is a Hwy 1 series 2 recognisable for the 70s large headstock and a vintage 6 point tremolo, it has a solid ald'r body with mapl' neck and rosewo'd fingerboard. Apparently, the earlier Hwy 1 series 1 with a gloss nitro finish was outselling the more expensive American Standard Strat (more or less the same guitars except for the nitro paint instead of the American's poly paint), so in the series 2 they changed the headstock shape and dulled the paint finish to set the guitars apart (same woods and build quality though). Note: As stated, the highway one series two has a special nitrocellulose satin finish which really helps the tone but looks like orange peel close up in places, it is not glossy like the usual plastic like tone inhibiting poly finish - I personally like the finish because its understated and will age to get to a road worn realic look quicker and also different (please see photo 10 - No refunds if you don't like the paint finish!). The neck and low action are just perfect, no fret wear at all (see photo 6), it is really easily to play (it is better than our Jap Strat, and leagues ahead of mexican, korean or whatever) and sounds really nice with good quality hotter than Am Std Strat pickups. Collection preferred but I can deliver within 50 miles of my area (Rickmansworth), or insured courier delivery can be arranged. Open to serious offers (however, the listed price for a sunburst finish is pretty reasonable already, there are a couple listed which have had thier pick guards changed to black and are much more expensive).
