Beautiful and rare original Hurngarian Tarogato made by Stenberg in Budapest Hungaria.. Tarogato Instrument with a sound between a Clarinet and Soprano Sax , is made of nice wood with silver plated keys and is signed with: STERNBERG - BUDAPEST. This Tarogato is rare instrument - Mechanically the tarogato is in good condition. There a of cracks in the joint which previously repaired (see photos). Everything else is in excellent condition. A little wear on the key touches.
The pads are in good condition . ( the pads are used, but may work for some more time.
May need a service to be played professionnally.
.The instrument will need some cleaning and regulation
The silvern keys color is very good,mouthpiece and ligature, good condition : - total length without mouthpiece 59.5 cm
Unfortunately tarogato is supplied without a case

The company was founded in 1881 by Ármin Sternberg (1861 - 1928) and his brother. In the 1930's it became the largest instrument factory in the country, offering almost complete range of instruments, including radios, gramophone and other sound equipment, with its own record label division. The Sternberg Instrument Factory has been the leader in jazz promotion in the country, its main source was the band of the era, the bands of the salon, Sternberg published on January 31, 1935, the first jazz news of the country. The II. World War events and the subsequent nationalization, the company ceased to exist.
