Early 70s Gibson SG Special.FIRST: I am not the owner of this guitar. The owner of this guitar is now in assisted living and was a part of the 60s folk music scene around Washington DC. She suffers from dementia so I have very little information about this guitar. ALL proceeds from this sale, less selling fees, will go towards her financial support. Cosmetically this guitar is in rough shape but musically it is in good condition for it's age and history. Very little wear showing on the frets, the neck appears straight, action plays low. It has Gibsons low, wide profile frets and plays very smooth and incredibly easy, living up to the phrase "fretless wonder" given to Gibsons back then. The electronics work but the pots are a little scratchy. It has the original mini-humbucker in the neck position but the bridge pick-up was replaced with a DeMarzio. The bridge cavity was routed to accommodate the larger size of the Demarzio - see pics. The tuners were replaced- see pic, I don't have the original tuners. The lower body, below the bridge, was hit by the overspray of something, not sure what. Some of the overspray rubbed off with a fingernail but most would not, again - please see pics.  There is a large crack on the upper horn extending down to the neck pick up and a small crack between the neck and the bridge pick up.The guitar has nicks, dings and scratches throughout. I've tried to describe anything significant. Please inspect the pics thoroughly as I tried to get the guitar at every angle. More pics available for those interested on Reverb(dot)com listing (eBay only allows 12 pics), please check them out for more insight. The guitar is sold "AS-IS", no returns. Comes with hard-shell case shown.Domestic shipping only - No international sales.Guitar is for sale locally and on other sites therefore Seller reserves the right to cancel listing at any time. Thanks for looking
