We're very pleased to welcome another vintage Ludwig set! This particular drum kit comes from the early 1980's somewhere between 1980 and 1984 based on the badge. It's a big set up, similar set up and identical finish to the kit Roger Taylor from Queen was using in between '84 and '85. This kit would be perfect for a queen tribute band or any one looking to emulate that iconic Queen drum sound! The drums are the 6 ply Maple shell introduced in the late 70's and have the clear interiors. The bass drum spurs, tom mount bracket, tom holder mounts and tom holders are all the modular series options. The kit is finished in Chrome (a very popular finish for Ludwig) and features the Black bass drum hoops with Silver Sparkle inlay, a very nice touch! This kit is in really good condition for its age, sounds absolutely brilliant as you would expect with any Ludwig and with exception to the double tom holder and single tom stand (both included) which are a little tatty, the chrome work on these drums is really good too.

*** About Roger Taylor and his Ludwig Chrome Kits:In the 84-85 Period  (Works Tour)  Roger's sizes were 12x11,13x12,14x13 Toms, 16x16 and 18x16 Floor Toms and 24x16 Bass Drum. The kit offered here features all those same sizes and specs with exception to the 18x16 floor tom which is not currently available with this set. Roger also played a slightly larger version of the Chrome kit in the early 80's with a 26" Bass Drum and also returned to using a variety of set ups with the Chrome kit including a double bass drum configuration for 'The Miracle' record and associated music videos between '88 & '89. Whilst Roger has used a variety of brands and colours over the years, the Chrome Kit is certainly one of his most iconic looking and memorable kits from the Queen 1980 - 1990 period and featured heavily in much of their live, documentary and music videos.
