The MKL-101 from AEGThe AEG MKL-101 was introduced in 2000 as the first faithful reproduction of the classic German tube microphone. The preamp is an exact replica or a classic German circuit completely handmade using a vintage Telefunken 701k tube. the microphone is hardwired. If a sweatshop factory could spit these out they would, but all other factory made bottle microphone replicas we have seen, contain some shortcuts that make them differ from the original.This microphone is #164The capsule is a cardioid, and a faithful reproduction of the U67 capsule custom made by AEG. The microphones uses a vintage German transformer as well as vintage German tube.The power supply is an exclusive AEG design which is switchable from 110-120v to 230-240v depending on where in the world you are. It uses modern voltage regulation and a custom wound power transformer, as well as the convenience of modern XLR connectors. It is hand assembled and wired, and checked twice.
