Old Blackwood Highland Pipes. Natural mounts etc and nickel ferrules. Pipe sticks only for sale. These were purchased by me ten years ago and they have been played frequently. They were probably made in the early part of the 20th Century as the ferrules are seamed which is a way which was overtaken by unseamed ferrules in about 1910. They are made in the Glasgow Henderson style. There is no makers stamp on them. They have seen service, some of it with the military. The bass outer ring cap has been replaced by an early form of imitation. The original blowpipe stock is made with the usual welt groove. I have transferred the ferrule from this to a new stock without groove. Both stocks are included. The pipes have been well turned and used and this is an opportunity to buy a good traditional set of pipes which have character. The blowpipe is an all blackwood replacement.
