Weber 2-Point Rawhide Mandolin. This is basically a brand new instrument. It is absolutely immaculate, with no scratches, blemishes or issues of any kind. It's a spectacular custom mandolin, built in 2016. Red spruce top, maple back and sides. It has the beautiful Weber Rawhide aesthetic package, which they describe as follows:"The Rawhide series is a Western classic. Wherever it’s played, from the stage in front of thousands of fans to the campfire accompanying cowboy poetry, this series delivers a rich, deep sound, and a distinctively Western vibe. With an ivory/half-herringbone purfling and Buffalo skull inlay, its rugged look is accentuated by the Faded Leather Burst stain that graces the Red Spruce top. Listen closely, and you just might hear the thundering herds of buffalo on the eastern Montana plains. The Rawhide aesthetic package is available on custom instruments through one of our Weber Specialty Dealers......The sound chamber in our Two-Point body is the largest in a symmetrical body that we make. This instrument delivers booming, window-vibrating volume, blazing chop, shimmering trebles and growling bass. This body shape is only offered on custom instruments through a Weber Specialty Dealer."The instrument plays absolutely beautifully. The feeling of the neck is awesome, and the overall playability is fantastic. It's set up with very nice, comfortable action, with DR strings (my personal preference). It has a K&K mandolin pickup installed, which was done by Weber. That was a $200 upgrade.I purchased this instrument because I was on tour in Australia (with Cirque du Soleil), and needed a backup. I'm now back in the US, and have too many mandolins to justify keeping them all. This instrument lists for $5999 on the Weber site, plus the cost of the pickup installation. Get it here at a huge discount. On YouTube, there's a video of me playing this instrument in a studio, so you can really tell how it sounds and looks. I wasn't able to attach a link here, so look up "Peter Fand My Dear Country" on YouTube, and you'll be able to listen, and hear this instrument with great clarity and definition. It plays beautifully, sounds great plugged in, and is a nice alternative to the standard F5's and A models that you see everywhere. Truly a unique instrument.Visit the Weber Mandolins website, where you can find more info about the Two Point if you'd like.
