Description

The "normal" Flaxwood, so to speak, priced new around $900-1K if you can ever find one.  They're fairly rare.  Enjoy the decades-played feel of these righteous Flaxwood necks without the wonkiness associated with the originals. Three Duncan SSL-2's wrapped in a gorgeous blue pearl pickguard. They call it a hybrid and to some extent, I suppose that's correct but to me, it feels like any old school Strat albeit with a eco-observing neck carved to a wondrous feel. To the touch, the Flaxwood neck feels to me, a bit like Moses graphite. The hand just glides over it. No sticky finish to slow ya down. The more you sweat, the faster it gets. Radius is 12-degrees and the fretwork is dressed nicely with no sharp ends. The necks on these Flaxwoods enjoy a nice reputation for being incredibly comfortable and this jobber is no exception, since it's basically pulled from their higher-end series.European alder body combined with the flaxwood construction of the neck results in an unusually resonant instrument. This guitar howls. Unplugged, it's loud as hell and when amp'd, things really get interesting. A lot of grunt here. A nice touch is the blend control, brought over from the higher end Flaxwood series. It blends the neck Duncan to the bridge and introduces tones not usually attainable from a three single-coil setup. Bear in mind there is a swimming pool route under the 'guard if you desire to place a full size bucker in there, creating a very nice Super S.No dings, no dents. Rarely used since purchase, only because as a three-Flaxwood guitar owner, I was curious to see how this one stacked up against its higher-priced big brothers and it competes at every level.
Comes with a generously padded gigbag and original tremolo bar. Strung 9-46 with current action low with no buzz.
