Here is a one-of-a-kind cymbal that is rarer than you would think due to its unique size. Most 22'' K Istanbuls are slightly undersized (I've owned a few and they were all just under 22'' ), but this one is even a bit smaller, finding that sweet spot of 21.4'' (according to the tape measure) for those of you who've always dreamed of a 21½'' K Istanbul New Stamp. I categorize this one as thin but not too thin, at 2272g it has enough body to not wash out and still have the presence you want in a ride cymbal. It also has all the other qualities you'd look for:-icy, crystal clear stick-warm, controlled wash-clean and even pitch/tone-explosive, shattering crash-that timeless tone and sound that you hear on Art Blakey recordingsThere's a reason these cymbals are so sought after, and very rarely do you find one in such great condition at this weight range with no alterations such as rivet holes etc. There are a few strips of tape residue on the bottom of the cymbal, but nothing of concern by any means. It's pristine for being over 50 years old, with smooth edges, but played in enough to have that warm, balanced sound that K istanbuls stand for. They're not making cymbals like this anymore, so make an investment, and be at ease. Selling for financial reasons so don't worry your head, there's no problems with this cymbal. It's the kind of cymbal that fits and excels in all contexts, not just jazz, though it's right at home there.Alright, enough talking, let's hear this bad boy Sticks used in the video are Vic Firth 85A's. Playing by the great Jesse Cahill.Feel free to make me an offer. If you're in the ballpark I'm sure we'll be able to working something out.
