Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very unique and rare Amperite RSHG "velocity" ribbon microphone made in New York City during the mid 1950's. This one of the rarest microphones from Amperite and you just never see them around. It has a very industrial look to it and built like a tank! Quite large as well and the same size as a 1st generation Shure 55 Fatboy. As you can see in the pictures provided this beautiful microphone has been used very little over the years and the original painted finish is 100% free of any dents, dings, nicks, stains or scratches. The mic was very well taken care of over the decades and seems to have been stuck in time. This mic has been cleaned and tested. I have heard stronger ribbon mics but this is about 80% and can absolutely be used for recording or broadcasting purposes if you get up close enough and tweak the sound with an E.Q. The mic doesn't say if it's a High Z or Low Z model but it has a High Z sound. The on / off switch works perfectly. This model does not have an impedance switch...one setting only. You won't need any amplified "phantom power" with this mic. Plug in any do your thing. just that easy. The original cable and 1/4 inch connector are included which is a bonus as many of these cable completely fall apart or are never included. The cable itself is 5 feet long, soft and pliable with zero cracks. Info on this variant of the RBHG model are hard to find and these mics were not produced for very long making them uber hard to find and highly collectible. Cosmetically speaking this mic is a 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...for display purposes only. This would make an excellent display piece in the home, office or studio as it's museum quality. Again...uber rare. As with all my vintage items... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and item relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
