These Banton Smallpipes are almost 5 years old and sound very sweet. Wish I could remember what kind of wood this is but it’s in the blackwood family. (Not Rosewood nor Cocobolo; it’s an odd name.) And though the colors are diverse, the wood in the Banton A set is all the same. The set comes with a Banton A, C, and D chanter. There are two drone extenders to get an F or a G for the alternate chanter. The Bf chanter is a Pinchbeck chanter with a Df hole at the back. Finally, there’s a Hamon Sackpipa chanter as well. All chanters are sized to fit the Banton chanter stock. There are 8 extra reeds, some homemade and others made by… I forget. Also, three Hamon Sackpipa reeds as well. The reedmaking block and the curved gouge are both from Michael Dow. Note also, some uncut Sampson Cane sections. And there’s a homemade reed holder. Comes with the case. No bellows, but the bellows adapter of the same wood is included. You can get bellows from Nate Banton, Michael McHarg, Simon Hope, and some others whose names I forget. The drone reeds are EZ Drone reeds made esp. for Banton chanters. The original reeds (included) took too much air. (Nate Banton has changed his drone reed design since I purchased this set.) The bag is a new McHarg bag because I played off my right shoulder and it’s a sure bet no one else reading this Ebay copy plays cackhanded. Why selling? I’ve had to sell everything and this is the last of it (except a Walsh Blackwood Practice Chanter… which I’ll have in another listing). A progressing peripheral neuropathy on my right hand makes it now impossible to play. It pains me to get rid of this set (as with my others) but I have to face reality.Shipping and insurance are a flat $45. My experience with three other sets I just sold is that with insurance it's about this cost or more for USPS first class ground service.
