For sale is one late 50's WFL drum set for sale in white marine pearl. This is a rare kit called the Porto-Pak. It was in the 1950's catalog and was endorsed by Barrett Deems. The sizes are unique. They are 12"x22", 8"x12", and 5.5"x13". The snare drum is my favorite part of the kit. It has a great tone. These snare drums on their own sell for around $600. The kit is in great condition and is all original except for the snare drum strainer and snare wires. The strainer is a modern Ludwig and the wires are Fat Cats. I'm not sure if any additional holes were drilled for the strainer. It doesn't look like it but I could be wrong. Please see the pictures. The snare drum and rack tom have their original mufflers. I removed them so they wouldn't rattle in the studio but they will be included in the sale. I also have the little cymbal arm that mounts on the bass drum. The bass drum hoops have been repainted professionally. The tom has one very small area where the wrap has cracked. Again, see pictures. It is completely stable and has not changed in the time I have owned the kit.The bass drum has an original WFL calfskin on the resonant side and a Remo Powerstroke 3 black dot on the batter side. The snare drum has a coated ambassador on top, ambassador snare side on bottom. The rack tom has a coated ambassador on top and a clear ambassador on bottom. The resonant heads are all new and the batter heads have some life left in them. I basically tried all of Remo's line on this kit and found this was the best sounding set up for the drums. The drum set does not come with any other hardware or cymbals. Payment is expected via PayPal within two days of sale. Continental U.S. only on this item.
