The same methodology and quality of workmanship exists in these pianos. More than that there are unique design elements of Knabe pianos (such as the wide tail) which offers a rich tone that appeals to many people. This piano was rebuilt at some point in the past and has newer strings, key bushings, front rail bushings, tuning pins, and the soundboard has been reworked. It has as new damper felt and brand new German Renner hammers, shanks, knuckles, flanges. The case has also recently been refinished. If you are looking for a big bass on a piano, this instrument delivers! The action is smooth and responsive and the tone is fat and warm - the trademark of the great American pianos from this era. At 7-feet 9-inches, this piano is a great size since you get an incredibly rich sound without taking up quite as much space as a full 9-foot concert grand.
