Description

This is a beautiful and rare Henri Orlowski, full sized, silver mounted pernambuco violin bow.   The  bow was presented by Mr. Henry Orlowski to Mr. John Madden of NYC and Saint Augustine, Florida as part of collection of seven bows. Mr Madden was an avid violin collector/player who obtained his masters degree in music from the Eastman School of Music. Over the years six of the Orlowski bows  were sold but Mr. Madden kept this bow as one of his favorites. Mr. Madden's letters indicate that Mr. Orlowski gave the bows as a present to Mr.Madden in 1984 – the letters will be given to the new owner. The bow weighs 61 grams, has the original silver lapping, leather grip , frog and shows almost as new. It is a great playing bow that pulls a big sound. A buyer may desire new hair - this bow has not been played in a long time.   Henry Orlowski was just starting to gain fame as a violin maker when he died suddenly - bows with his name are rare!   I welcome all questions and will gladly send additional pictures to a potential buyer.   Please be advised that the shipping cost listed below is NOT ACCURATE - the cost of shipping will be determined at the time of sale depending on how a buyer desires the bows be shipped and will include postal insurance.   Best of luck to all!
