If you are a Selmer player, I'm sure you know all about these horns! Today, it is nearly impossible to find one of these tenors in its original finish, without past damage. The Selmer super balanced action, aka Super action tenors are the most lyrical and pure of all of the Selmer horns ever produced! These were the first horns that Selmer ever made, with the modern ergonomics of the mark vi that virtually every saxophone manufacturer to this day, still model their horns after. It's not very often that you find them in this kind of condition. This one is a 1952, 51,xxx, original lacquer tenor sax. It retains about 50% of its dark honey lacquer, but don't let the honest playing wear fool you ... This horn is in premium shape. The neck is in perfect shape and has never suffered any pull downs, like so many other of these old horns. It also has the matching serial number to the body. The sax also does not have any past resolders. This is a one owner horn who played it professionally for years, and really took great care of this sax. You can tell that he really cherished it! The sound of this particular horn is unmistakable and truly unreal! It is a supreme player and has the special lush, lyrical flavor that only the sba's can have. Think Joshua Redman or Steve Cole.
