KEIO Synthesizer Traveler pedal This is one of the rarest pedals out there, one of the biggest, and one of the strangest. It's an early '70's wah-fuzz with a built-in monophonic synthesizer. Plenty of videos on youtube attest to some of what this thing can do. It's as much an instrument as effect; it creates sound as well as colors the sounds you put through it. I've included here a scan of the original ad for the Synthesizer Traveler, to give you a kind of kooky look at the pedal's operation (like the pedal, the ad is both entertaining and useful).My excellent tech has gone over this pedal from top-to-bottom and it's in 100% working, original condition. Teisco began the production of guitars in about 1955.
Guitars begin to be popular worldwide in 1967.
When Teisco began to produce goods of poor quality in large quantities, the management of the company turned worse.
Teisco cooperated with KAWAI to revitalize management.
KAWAI owned many markets and sold a piano.
Teisco borrowed a market of KAWAI and revitalized management.
Mr. MIEDA worked in Teisco.
However, he resigned with the friend who had dissatisfaction towards Teisco
They established "Houney" immediately.
The start is 1966 through 1967.
Mr. MIEDA did many ideas to a product.
The product which he produced there.
"Baby-Crying" (UniVox-Surper-Fuzz).
"Vibra-Chorus" (UniVox-Uni-Vibe).
"Psychedelic-Machine."
However, all the products to produce of Mr. MIEDA were expensive.
It was difficult for the then Japanese to buy "Pyschedelic-Machine".
They paid a share triple the salary and purchased it!
The management of "Honey" turned worse immediately!
They called for help in Teisco!
Teisco introduced business with "UniVox" to them.
Teisco gave it an order to start an electronics technology offer.
On the other hand, Teisco provided a guitar production technology in "Honey".
"Honey" revitalized management in "UniVox" affiliation.
"Vibra-Chorus" changed the name with "Uni-Vibe".
"Baby-Crying" changed the name with "Super-Fuzz".
Mr. MIEDA named the name of "Uni-Vibe" it!
However, the movement of the guitar is finished rapidly in 1969!
"Honey goes bankrupt in 1969, too"!
"Shin-Ei" stole much stock and techniques from "Honey"!
It was not a transfer and was like the theft!
Mr. MIEDA enters "KEI-OH-GIKEN" in 1971.
He develops "Synthesizer-Traveler-F-1".
He engaged in the development of the synthesizer afterwards.The name of the company changes it to "KORG", too.
