Buescher Aristocrat Tenor Saxophone, requires some work, sold as a 'project'
Estimated price for orientation: 395 $
Category: Recorders
Class:
Description
Buescher Aristocrat Tenor Saxophone, requires some work, being sold as a 'project. It does play to a limited degree, and the pads are 'reasonable' - which means that possibly only a few will require replacement. But it will require some work to make it play well, and also the re-attachment of one of the right-hand pearl holders (supplied) - the 'F' pearl (RH-1).
The lacquer is worn away on some parts of the body, this character horn would benefit from being stripped, have the remaining lacquer taken back to bare brass, and rebuilt with whatever pad and cork changes are required. It has a few 'dings'. especially around the bow, but (imho) they just add to the character of this lovely old Buescher Aristocrat. The neck shows evidence of having been 'pulled down' at some stage.
From investigation on the internet it is an Aristocrat model 157, and the 357xxx serial number dates it to around the 1950's, before the date that Buescher was sold to Selmer. Trademark 'Ribbon' key guards, and I can't be sure what 'snap' pad fixings (if any) remain in the cups - from looking a the resonators it does appear to have a mix of pads. Amber rollers on the pinky keys. Supplied in an old - but very sturdy - case which is perfect for shipping as it has plenty of room for extra padding.Realistic offers will be considered, please remember that this is being sold as (very much) a 'project' and not a working saxophone. If you need any more detailed pictures please ask, and specify which areas. I will add any further info etc. to the listing as I research the horn.
Postage will be £17.50 to the UK mainland by Parcelforce 48 (or equivalent) very well packed. I will ship to most other countries, but shipping costs will be higher. Please note: I do state that items will normally be despatched "within 5 working days of receiving cleared payment" to allow for very occasional interruptions to my life (i.e. family, medical etc.) - but normally despatch will be much quicker, as soon as is humanly possible after payment. I will also gladly work with you, wherever possible, if for any reason you need delivery on a specific date - e.g. to be around to receive and/or sign for the package. Just talk to me.
I have switched to the Ebay Global Shipping program for larger items - if no overseas postage cost is shown in the listing, click on the "...other countries : See details " link in the 'Postage:' area and change the pop-up box to your country/code to see how much it will cost.
If you’d like any more specific pictures, or need any more information, please contact me by eBay message, or within the UK you are welcome to phone/text me on 07762 701624. All sales are final, please ensure that the item is suitable for you before bidding. The postage cost usually shown is to UK mainland addresses only, additional charges may apply to destinations in the Channel Islands, Scilly Isles, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, and Highlands and Islands of Scotland, depending on postal service or courier. I prefer to ship tracked and (where possible) insured, for peace of mind. Overseas shipping costs will be higher. I am currently switching most listings to the Ebay Global Shipping program for overseas shipping, which will then also show any taxes and/or duty which will be payable when shipping to your country.
Regrettably I can not ship to a Post Box address in any country, even if it is a Paypal verified address. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Alan
