We are offering a VERY PRISTINE VINTAGE brass King ARTIST model Bb BARITONE , vintage model 1165, serial 166883. Pattern reads: “KING, made by the H. N. White Company, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.” Pattern is still very sharp! Circa 1933. This vintage King is one of the most pristine we have ever seen! Each piston has the actual serial number of the horn 166883 stamped on them! In 1933 this Artist BARITONE was hand crafted in Cleveland. The Gold Gate Bridge construction was started and the Lone Ranger was broad cast on radio for the first time! “King Kong” the film, premiers at Radio City Music Hall and Prohibition ends. The first donut shop, Krispy Kreme, opened in Nashville! You can own a piece of 1933 American history! This side action, three valve, bell front baritone horn has been totally restored in our Pro Restoration Shop where we have been restoring musical instruments since 1946 for music dealers and players worldwide! We completed a meticulous restoration mainly due to poor lacquer. Instrument was lightly dented and appeared to have had very light use. . NO PATCHES ANYWHERE! This horn has been totally cleaned and sterilized with all dents and dings removed, highly polished and clear lacquered with G. J. Nikolas #2105 Clear Lacquer. All tuning slides and valves are smooth and air tight. Valve plating and guides are in near new condition – see pictures. Instrument has been lubricated and is ready to play out of the box! This vintage model 1165 has a bell diameter of 11" and a total length of 31”. This authentic Bb baritone should NOT be confused with the smaller, poorly made less expensive imports! This instrument does NOT include case or mouthpiece. New top quality USA made case and or mouthpiece is available – please inquire.
