1970 Sakazo Nakade guitar. cedar/indian.all solid woods.Sakazo Nakade is considered the father of Japanese guitar building. He built to pure spanish guitar building tradition with fan bracing having studied the art of luthiery in Spain, and the name Nakade lived on with his sons also building. For those in the know, Nakade guitars are up there and often better then the more famously known in western countries "Kohno" guitars, also Nakade stuck to traditional building while Kohno went to his own bracing from 1970 onwards..
The sound is very old school spanish sounding with cello like character, surprisingly very bright for a cedar and with excellent bass. good voume and excellent projection.Specs:Soundboard: Western Red CedarBack and Sides: Indian RosewoodNeck: MahoganyFretboard: African EbonyScale: 650mm Nut: 52mmBracing: 7 fanTuners: original Japanese(39mm spacing)action is a comfortable ~4.1mm at 12th fret for 6th string and ~3.2mm for 12th fret at first string. The condition is good for the age of the guitar. recently i had the guitar re-fretted, and action adjusted. the guitar was refinished recently french polish for the body, original lacquer finish on neck. there is one repaired crack on the soundboard. the soundboard has markings from previous scratched up lacquer (when air gets into scratches on wood, it discolours it through moisture in the air).. so cosmetically it does look old.comes in rigid polyfoam case. Here is a sound sample of the guitar:https://www.dropbox.com/s/r938vzahbp4yvj2/nakade70.mp3?dl=0
