Details of Steinway Model C 7 ' 5" Semi Concert Grand PianoThis magnificent instrument, manufactured in 1890, originally belonged to Dorothy Oliver of Greenville, MI who was an accomplished performer and teacher. Alex Kapteyn of Central Michigan Pianos tuned this piano on a regular basis.When in late 2014 Dorothy unfortunately passed away, her son contacted Alex and inquired if there was interest in purchasing the piano. Alex purchased the piano and began restoring it in February of 2015.The piano was essentially in original condition except the legs, which were not original and needed to be changed. Alex finished the restoration in December of 2015, and has been enjoying it in his home where it is currently located. He is now offering this special piano for sale.Alex Kapteyn had new handcrafted legs and pedal lyre made to enhance the beauty of the case and make it a more stunning instrument.Hardware is brushed nickel and the finish is satin ebony.This piano has a new sound board, new bridges with modern configuration of the melody sectionPlate refinished and lettered, with new Paulello treble wire, and English made EKA bass strings. The bass section of this piano is unbelievable!The keyboard is new with sugar pine keysticks and genuine ebony sharps., key covers are Ivorite material from England. Action is German Steinway with Weickert Special hammers with walnut moldings. Underlevers and damper felts are Renner.Underneath of piano is completely restored with all new felts, leather, and finish.Regulated with a touch that is truly exquisite. Very solid piano that holds tune very well.
