Liebevoll restaurierte Kharaj-Pancham Sitar (Ravi Shankar/Nikhil Banerjee Stil). Aus einem Kellerfund in Berlin. Herkunft/Alter ungewiss. Vermutlich Kalkutta oder Varanasi, schätzungsweise späte Achtziger-frühe Neunziger Jahre. Werkstatt unbekannt.Die Verarbeitung ist auf hohem Niveau und wesentlich besser als die neuen Instrumente aus den meisten Werkstätten von heute. Besaitung/Stil entspricht Kharaj Pancham/Ravi Shankar-Bauart jedoch OHNE den zweiten Resonator. Ich habe das Instrument restauriert und dabei folgende Arbeiten ausgeführt:> komplette Neubesaitung mit Pyramid golden string> alle Stimmwirbel geschliffen und bekreidet> Jawari (Klangschliff) beider Brücken> lose Bundstäbe neu und fest gebunden> alle Bundstäbe auf Hochglanz poliert> "Bass-Saiten-Haken" installiert um die BassSaiten abzuklemmen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDFQ3wHIhbwKlang und Bild-Eindrücke entnehmt bitte dem YouTube Video. Der Klang ist sehr voluminös und die Ansprache der Resonanzsaiten sehr mächtig. Nach Wunsch kann ich die Besaitung auch modifizieren:> Vilayat Khan Stil> HybridDas Instrument kommt in einer Holzkiste. Origin/Age uncertain - probably made in Kolkata or Varanasi presumably end 80ies or early nineties. Craftsmanship here is on high standard unlike many new instruments from workshops of nowadays. Set up in Kharaj Pancham/Ravi Shankar but WITHOUT the second/upper tumba. While restoring it i did the following works:> complete set of new Pyramid strings> pegs sanded and chalked> javari: filing of the bridges for good sound> tied loose frets> polished all frets> installed a bass-string-hookhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDFQ3wHIhbwCheck out sound and looks in the YouTube Video. Sound is loud and resonant strings sing out big. If customer wishes i can modify the string setup:> Vilayat Khan style> HybridThe sitar comes in a wooden box. Heavy & secure.
