ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD....In the last 33 years as a Certified Luthier I have made some very cool one of a kind guitars, I also like to recycle items left for dead, as was the neck I used to creat this amazing one of a kind Mandolin. The neck is made by RWB from the 1880's. It has 4 center aligned banjo style tuners, the other 4 per side tuners are stamped PAT PEND 89. Tuners in great shape and work fine, with original screws. ATTENTION.. Due to describing woods and selling over seas on eBay, most of the exotic woods used are now a RED FLAGGED when listing item , so when I describe woods its not gonna be spelled or described right, SORRY the Headstock is Bra Zillion. From the 1880 's. The fret board is Black EBBny.. 17 frets. 12 3/4 scale. Original bar frets. The neck is in real nice original condition. The Flying V 12 body is 14 " X 10 1/2" at bottom. 25 " total length, The body is Hon Deris MahogKnee. Made from a piece of wood from when I worked for Hamer guitars in 1983, And the top is covered in EB knee, and the wood was hand carved in layers giving it a great dimension and older period look. ALOT of Extra time to do. Also has a Red/White Binding stripe that follows the body shape. Also it has a Removable Ebaknee wrist/ hand cradle that comforts your hand right over the strings and hides the string ends, uses a floating adjustable bridge, I used a Gibson Tony Iommi pickup with a coil tap and Black chrome steel pickup ring. And I used a sturdy strat jack plate located on right side of body. Push/pull volume and 1 tone. The back/sides and back of neck is Black lacquer wet sanded and buffed, I removed the small dovetail joint from neck and made a solid hardwood block that goes from the 11th fret all the way to the pickup cavity, 4 1/2" long tenon that I set into a body neck slot than capped with top wood . can't get any stronger. The back of the body has a slight contour cut for a comfort fit .. I have light gauge guitar strings on it right now, and when I first fired it up and got it to tune, The sound it produced put a tear in my eye. It sounded like I was playing thru God's amp, the12 strings gives this instrument a harp over tone and is very beautiful one of a kind sound, and it gets even crazier when you use some power and overdrive/ distortion. The sound choices are very impressive. The instrument took almost 4 months to make, and will be buffed one more time before shipping. Has a Flying V mini gig bag. This instrument turned heads all day at the Chicago Vintage Guitar Show last year and will be at the 2015 Show on 3-1-15 Hillside, Illinois Best Western Hotel for a closer looking. If you want what no one else has or can buy here's your only chance to own a work of art and a sound never experienced.. I hope the price that I'm asking is in line, I value it a lot higher than what I'm asking. Also the fees for ebay /PayPal/insurance/shipping add another $500.00 in fees just to sell and ship. So I'm open for other options to help reduce these fees..... PS... If anybody knows Jack White .....Please forward ad, I made this with him in mind. |
