VINTAGE LEEDY ORCHESTRA BELLS 2 1/2 OCTAVE G-C RECENTLY FOUND IN STORAGE POSSIBLY 100 YEARS OLD AMAZING UNIT
This is a Leedy bells with original case. The keys are steel and they were originally Plated with bright Nickle much of the plating remains and they are for the most part still bright plated, but their are spots of rust and some spots could likely be cleaned to remove some rust residue but the would stll be some spots of corrosion at best. Please view the photos carefully as they are part of the description, what you see in photos is the item you will receive. If you have any questions or need some added info or another photo or 2 feel free to ask.
Here are some specs. 2 1/2 octaves G-C all keys 1 1/4" the longest one is 9" the shortest one is 3 7/8" The tuning is stamped on one key and is 440 This was made in Indianapolis Ind.
For these to be like new they would need to be replated and tuned. I know there are a few places that do this. From what I have read the cost to replate and retune would be in the 400.00 range. I do not see any signs of flaking on this, that is my observation I am not and expert on plating or metals. The nickel plating is shiny on the majority of the keys some of what you see in the pictures are shadows / reflections and not dark areas of the keyboard.
