This guitar is a highly innovative, way before its time, creation out of Mercury Guitars. Mercury was a small company in Berkeley,California, USA, who started making very cool and original guitars in the early 80's. This one is there very best with its 3 pickups with silver covers,STRIKING turquoise/ocean blue color with unusual and creative design elements ( see those knobs and that copper?), unusual "sitar- like" white peghead and that UNBELIVABLE plexiglass see through string bender apparatus with all the gears and pulleys and ratchets visible in the back. You can actually see how it bends the G and B strings producing some of the wildest, haunting,PSYCHEDELIC sounds you ever heard !! It's a heavy (as in weight and as in "You're so heavy") guitar too ( probably about the weight of a Les Paul Custom- 9 lbs) so it's substantial and striking on stage. Truly one of a kind USA made guitar and that string bender machinery in back reminds me of my favorite toy as a youngster- Mr Machine. VERY cool and artistic vibe around this guitar!! Comes with hard case and photo of some California rock and roll guy from the 80's holding it. I assume he was the original owner. Shipping will be $350 UPS 2nd Day that includes ins.
