Fantastic Roland Synth from the mid-80s in great working condition and sounding amazing. Pay a visit to for anything you might want to know about this great synth including lots of resources (like software programmers to use instead of the PG-800 controller) maintenance tips and much much more. This is the first adjective that comes to my mind when I think of this instrument. The sound quality of the MKS-70 (and its keyboard version, the JX-10) is just beautiful, ethereal, warm and digital at the same time, and solid.I love this module. It combines the best of the analog and digital worlds, with plenty of editing possibilities, and a full, LUSH, professional sound. It excels at analog brass and strings, but it's capable of many more sonic colors (check out the .mp3s below)."Cello Orchestra" has to be one of the best pad sounds ever. Just add reverb and it will sit perfectly in any mix. The "Soundtrack" tone also seems to be a very popular sound among connoisseurs. The JX-8P is also similar to these two instruments, but only offers six voices, and it's basically half the power of its bigger brother and sister.Also included are 4 laminated pages on how to program the machine courtesy of Super-JX.com
This was bought from America so you will need a transformer to use it in Australia or Europe. Most budget travel ones (generally rated at 100W and costing around $10/$15) will do fine as the unit is only rated at 32W. Also you will need a "two prong" style power cable (I believe the technical name is IEC C9). These were very popular with audio gear from the 80s so if you own any other Roland, Akai or Revox gear there's a good chance you might already have one; if not they're easy enough to find online.PLEASE READPick-up:If you live in Melbourne or will be passing through within a couple of weeks from the end of the auction, pick-up is also welcome although in that case payment strictly in cash.
