Selling on commission for customer & maker, Mark Finney......sale on hold for time being...any enquiries to Vintage & Traditional Guitars. This is a rare opportunity to buy a quality individually Luthier-designed and built Resonator guitar, recently finished by Mark, in February, 2015.Equally unusual is the opportunity to view the online documented details of both the original Colin Keefe design, plus the constructional progress, through Mark Finney's contributions to Luthierforum.com.I also have another of Mark's guitars on sale....a 2009 made Grand Auditorium cutaway acoustic with Lutz Spruce top and Honduras Rosewood back & sides, and richly coloured Snakewood bridge, rosette & trussrod cover, contrasting Holly for the multiple top bindings, back binding & fingerboard/headstock binding....a very attractive, good sounding, resonant and individual guitar. ___________________________________________________________TRI-CONE WOODEN 12-FRET NEWLY/LUTHIER-BUILT MAPLE-BODIED BLUES RESONATOR GUITAR - MARK FINNEY MADE, TO COLIN KEEFE'S RESOPHONIC DESIGN, BASED ON THE ORIGINAL ICONIC TRICONE, WITH COLIN'S SIGNATURE "CAT'S EYE" SOUNDHOLES & QUARTERMAN CONES.

_____________________________________________________________________________Stock Number: VTGC1020.Starting with the design by Colin Keefe, Luthier, Long Eaton, Nottingham, shown on his website on this link:-http://www.keefeguitars.co.uk/instruments.php?id=tri_cone.html.....and also in the Gallery section to his website:-http://www.keefeguitars.co.uk/gallery.php.....reflecting the iconic original Tricone design, but with "Cat's Eye" soundholes, based on Colin's signature Roundback guitar design, rather than the F-holes of the Duolian or Triolian style, or than the "grills" of the original Tricone. As Colin mentions..."This has a lovely warm sound for a resonator, great for jazz and blues." Now, the making by Mark Finney, Leicester, who has worked with Colin for many years, initially as a student and, subsequently continuing making his own Guitars and other stringed instruments, including Mandola and Mandolin....please see the two Luthierforum.com links below the YouTube clip display....both pages 1 & 2 on the build description, and from part way down page 2 plus page 3 on the Galley. Then the specification....some of this will be evident going through the build description and pictures, but the body is principally Maple....a beautifully figured top, with flaming, which is actually a fine laminate of Maple and Spruce, in line with the recognized use of laminated tops for Resonator tops, but with again beautifully figured solid Maple sides and exotically quilted solid Maple back. Bindings are Mahogany, both top and back. multi-bound to the top, neck is 3-piece, Maple and Mahogany, Headstock is faced front and back in Pommele Mahogany, similar to Sapele, which because of it's recognised strength is also used for the Fingerboard. Finish is French Polish, and Nut and Saddle of Bone.Mark's build details refer to the Quarterman C
