Wow! This Professionally Adjusted Fox Renard Artist Model 220 Wooden Bassoon with silver plated keywork is ready to go and in amazing condition! Also included is a brand new Protec case, a $199 value! It plays extremely well, and has a great dark sound. This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. This instrument includes standard keywork plus the High D and High E keywork for full range. The Model 220 is a long-bore instrument that has great projection and tone and extra power, well suited for orchestral and work in groups. This instrument was made fairly recently with a serial number in the 27000 range (1998), but from the condition, it is near mint.
We have just finished overhauling this instrument. It was regulated to play cleanly and evenly up and down. The pads are in great condition. This is a great high end pre-professional bassoon, and because of the high quality fox design, you will find that it will play better than most other brands, and the 220 is one of the best pre-professional models they offer. The Tenon connectors are wax wrappings for added strength and durability.
Cosmetically, this instrument is in Excellent condition and been well taken care of overall. The previous owner took great care with this instrument, but there are a few dings and chips in the lacquer in the usual areas. The Silver plating is in excellent condition as well, though there are some minor scratches from normal wear. The photos speak for themselves. This instrument plays great, and looks great. The case is a fox hard case that has a bit of wear on the exterior but still functions and will protect the instrument well. Also includes case cover for added protections and a full set of accessories including a silk swab, seat strap, hand crutch, and reed.
