This is an extremely rare Canadian made Calton professional-grade flight case for 4/4 violin and F Style mandolin, in used but road ready condition. If you require a case that you can hand to airline baggage personnel absolutely worry free, this is the case for you. I have seen these literally run over before (not this one..) and the instrument still in tune, unharmed. This one was custom made for Eddie Miller, who was quite a good picker apparently. I have used it lightly over the last couple years, and it's in the same shape that I bought it.
There is one pretty good size ding (see photo) that could absolutely be fixed if you wanted a small project, but to be honest, it's completely inconsequential, and I really don't even notice it. Otherwise, normal wear and tear.
The case is grey on the outside, deep burgundy on the inside. Two storage pockets inside, and two bow spinners. Most full size violins and F style mandolins will fit well in this case, but if yours is a little tight, the foam breaks down over the course of a couple weeks and it'll be like a custom fit. I've had Duff and Altman F style mandos in this one and they both fit great.
First one to pay gets a bomber flight case- and these don't come around all that often. This sold recently but the buyer never paid for it, and then I went to Europe, so I've re-listed it. These are quite rare, and insanely useful to the right players.
