Up for auction is the beloved Roland CSQ-600. It’s a vintage CV sequencer, that’s correct, it’s a CV sequencer. It has 4 parts and up to a total of 600 notes, 600 notes !!!. Here is something that is super cool, if you turn off the machine, it has back up storage, so your sequences are saved until the next time that you turn it on. It gets much better, if you have a Roland drum machine that has Din-Sync, the sequencer will send a clock to your drum machine. If you have a Roland CR-78, you are in luck too, there is an output just for you. Do not worry, if you have modern drum machines like I do, you are in luck, you can use a din-sync to midi convertor and you to will receive a clock to control the tempo of your drum machine.
Remember kids, CV is weird, and not all CV is the same. This can control any vintage Roland gear with CV and modern CV like a .com modular. I would safely assume that Euro-Rack CV, yeah, this sequencer is not for you.
You can tell by the pictures I posted that the CSQ-600 is pretty, she has a few tiny scratches, a little oxidation showing on the jacks, and the din-sync insert is chipped, do not fear, the sync works just fine, do not shove a cable in there, be gentle and let the CSQ-600 know that you care (I have linked a video, showing that the sync is perfectly working).
Here is a video I made (sorry I did not hyper-link): https://youtu.be/L844LGcPRHU
The CSQ-600 works like it should, but remember it’s 30 years old, and sometimes there are ghosts in the machine, and sometimes it likes to go BOO !!!! It has never not failed me, but there has been a time or two where it reminds me that it’s in control, not me.
Also included is a footswitch, you will need the footswitch to make perfectly timed sequences. Also included is the Japanese to America power step down converter(this will not be included if European wins the auction).
