2014 Spector Euro 5 LX LE Limited Edition Electric Bass Guitar No 8 of 15 - RARE
Estimated price for orientation: 2 749 $
Category: Spector Euro5LX
Class:
Description Brand: SPECTOR Body Type: Solid Model: Euro 5 LX LE Limited Edition - No. 8 of 15 Made String Configuration: 5 String Style: Spector NS Body Shape - Carved in Three Dimensions Dexterity: Right-Handed
This Limited Edition Euro LX bass uses the same USA maple neck-thru neck
blank, truss rod, graphite rods and EMG pickups as the custom made hand-crafted
in New York Spector basses, so the heart of this bass is Spector USA. The body
of the bass features wings made of USA figured maple over European alder with a
slice of walnut in between for lighter weight, a zinc brass alloy bridge for
brass tone without solid brass weight, and a full tone rosewood fingerboard.
This bass exclusively features a chrome plated Spector bridge with intonation
screws, features that aren’t found on other models. Additionally, the neck on
this limited series bass has a slightly thinner neck profile than standard
Spector basses and is very easy to play with a fast action.
This bass is essentially brand new and in fantastic condition. It is near
mint to mint with only the few very slight imperfections listed below, some or
all of which may have originated at the factory. I do not know the complete
history of the bass other than the collector that owned it before me, but he may have
been the only other owner. I am extremely particular about my instruments, and
the only slight imperfections I have found are a small white line in the finish
on the back of the bass, two very tiny white dots (pencil point size or
smaller) in the finish where the neck meets the body, and a small area of
string marks along the edge of the fingerboard near the 12th fret. There is
also some slight tarnishing of the brass nut. I imagine a little brass polish
would shine the nut right up, but I will leave whether or not to attempt that
to the discretion of the new owner. Additionally, there is one very tiny nick
in the finish along the top corner edge of the headstock. I didn't notice it
until after looking the instrument over closely several times for any issues.
Pictures of these areas are included in the auction for your reference. They
are all very minimal and most people probably wouldn’t even mention them, but I
like to make sure a buyer has full disclosure so there are no disappointments.
I found no dings, dents, scuffs, marks or bruises beyond the few very minimal
imperfections discussed after carefully inspecting the instrument several
times.
The bass includes its original Spector factory case with
embroidered/stitched Spector logo, as well as the case keys and a small bag of
accessories that came with the bass. The bag of accessories includes
instructions for changing the batteries for the active pickups, the never-used
Schaller straplock pieces for the guitar strap of your choice, and four allen
wrenches for making adjustments to the bass. The case does have a few areas of
edge wear on the leather/leatherette end caps as a result of it doing its duty
to protect the bass, but overall the case is in excellent condition. The
picture included in the listing shows the worst area of edge wear, most other places
are significantly less.
The sound of this bass is amazing, with tones that are full and deep while
still cutting through the mix, and the balance between the strings is exceptional. The upgraded 18v active EMG BQC electronics
package that comes with this limited run bass provides an array of tonal options
to tailor the instrument to your particular sound. Visit to learn more about the EMG BQC
system and read reviews. The Dual Battery Quick Access Box on the back of the
bass makes changing batteries a breeze, and the EMG J/J pickup configuration is
also an unusual feature of this limited edition bass.
