Highly engraved J W Dork & Sons, Grand Rapids, Mich. serial number 10144.This is a beautiful antique Cornet that belonged to Stephan A Luce and brothers called the Luce Band and the original photograph of him and his family are included. He is pictured on the bottom right of this photograph. They were from Ashtabula, Ohio.The horn end has a dent...see pictures. There are two mouth pieces, one marked Weldon Model York & Son. The other is longer and marked York & Son Model. It needs a complete cleaning. There is also a replacement spring and other pieces...see the pictures. I'm selling this for a friend, this is a family piece and I can find out more about it if you like. The original case has the original velvet interior and key ...the leather handle is broken from age but it's inside the box and the original metal parts of the handle are still attached. The cornet has mother of pearl finger button tops.
