Korg Rhythm 55 (KR-55) + Analogue Solutions MIDI Retrofit + Korg S-2 Dual Foot SwitchThe KR55 was, for its time (1979), an advanced preset rhythm drum machine with up to 96 preset rhythm patterns! These patterns cover the whole gamut of presets (Waltz, Samba, Rhumba, Bossa Nova, Tango, Slow Rock, Swing, Rock, etc.). The KR55 also featured a "swing beat" control to add a variation to the groove. Each drum sound's level can be individually adjusted for each pattern. It can also be externally controlled via footswitch jack for the Start/Stop and Intro/Fill switches. The KR55B was a black-chassis version released a few years later in 1982 with twice as many rhythm patterns. -Vintage Synth Explorer MIDI INSTRUCTIONSAnalogue Solutions' MIDI interface has been fitted into the back of the KR-55. In order to receive MIDI messages by way of this interface the KR-55 needs to be "playing:" after pressing any one of the three row selector buttons (orange A, white B, green C), press any two of the black pattern selector buttons simultaneously such that neither button (nor any other pattern selector button) remains locked in the down position. The rhythm box is now "playing" and capable of receiving MIDI messages. The MIDI input only receives notes on MIDI channel 10:D2 = KICKD#2 = SNAREE2 = LOW TOMF2 = HIGH TOMF#2 = CONGAG2 = CYMBALG#2 = COWBELLA2 = CLOSED HATA#2 = OPEN HAT
