(signifying a
Dreadnought body, being the 48th guitar to enter production on the 17th
January 2006)

The height of
lutherie – this guitar!
Cocobolo and
Englemann Spruce combine to produce rich bass, commanding projection and
beautiful complex overtones. Re-voicing of the Dreadnought body completes the
transformation of bass response and wonderful floating mid-range.
This guitar is
equally suited to light/heavy strumming and finger-style playing. It has
entrancing tonal qualities - dynamic yet delicate, sustained by complex
overtones and nuances.
It is strung with
a set of Elixir medium-gauge strings at the moment.
The nut and
saddle are “Tusq”, a man-made “Ivory” that transmits sound with total
consistency – unlike marine-bone or real Ivory, that, apart from the hunting
implications, have soft areas in their make-up, that can sometimes, produce a
slight “deadening” effect.
Tuning is
beautifully accurate at any fret level – wonderful harmonics!
The guitar has
been set up nicely too – an easy low action (3mm string-height at fret 20) that
makes finger-style playing and difficult chords light work
