This is a very rare reed contrabass also known as a Italian contrabasso. This is one of the more interesting instruments I have found. It needs to be restored. As I understand it the instrument plays the opposite of other woodwind instruments. All keys are closed and you play the instrument by opening the keys not closing the. So instead of making the instrument a longer you make it shorter to play. It is missing a couple of key guards. However, all other parts appear to be present. There is no case.
We generally do not accept returns. This reduces the number of non serious bidders. Items are described as accurately as possible and questions are welcomed.
