Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured near the beginning of the Brownface era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the earlier Tweed amps that preceded it, and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later. There's an incredible range to the tone controls on this amp, and everything from rich and mellow sounds to twangy and crystalline bite is available at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It's truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect! The circuit is largely original with newer bypass caps andstock blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp. These capacitors are largely responsible for the sweet and musical sound of these early '60s Fender circuits, and both original Schumacher transformers are intact and date back to the 46th week of 1961. The main filter caps are original and working, although a couple shows signs of leakage and should be replaced in the future. The amp is currently loaded with a set of new Ruby power tubes that sound great and have plenty of life left, and the power cable is still of the vintage two-prong variety. The cabinet is a newer reproduction, with era correct brown tolex and wheat grillcloth, as well as a leather handle and even an accurate reproduction tube chart! As such, the newer cab shows sparingly little wear, and the amp is voiced through a 1966 Jensen C12Q speaker that has the hi-fi clarity and smooth, even response for which these speakers are known. This classic Pre-CBS Brownface Fender Deluxe is a great example of a classic and original circuit housed in a newer reproduction cab! Please check out our shop "Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar" on the web, and feel free to call us directly with any questions at 206.399.8518.
Shipping in the continental USA will be by FedEx Ground and will be $85, fully insured. We use double thick boxes, 1" foam and industrial 1/2" bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely.
