A rare old German certified violin bow by C.W. Knopf, ca. 1825, SUPERB!
A rare, superb old German certified violin bow made by Christian Wilhelm Knopf ca. 1825. C.W. Knopf was one of the most interesting and finest old German masters.
This is a wonderful in every way, soloist level, very interesting and typical, collectors quality example in excellent state of preservation.
The stick is finest quality golden brown pernambuco, octagonal in shape. This is a first class, concert bow with a magnificent tonal quality and equally fine handling. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. It is in excellent state of preservation, ready to play. The length of the stick is 73.1 cm and the weight of the bow is 61 g.
